Sean Abbott and Jordan Clark took four wickets apiece as Surrey – who won the toss, bowled Lancashire out for 274. Surrey responded with 360 thanks to a much-needed 103-run sixth wicket partnership between Will Jacks (64) Sam Curran (52) before Sean Abbott (87 not out) and Dan Worrall (51) put on a mammoth 130 runs for the last wicket.

Lancashire added 293 runs in their second innings to set up an intriguing fourth innings chase. Tom Bailey (5/48) and Will Williams (4/23) bowled Lancashire to a 123-run victory on the fourth morning.
