Surrey & England cricketers Ollie Pope and Bryony Smith were in attendance as Surrey Cricket Foundation opened their latest public cricket facilities in Peckham Rye Park recently.

The project has been completed alongside Southwark Council and as part of the work of London Cricket Trust, a group comprising of all four first-class South East counties.

The initial idea came from Martin Koder, who is a member at Streatham & Marlborough Cricket Club in South London.

Juniors from SMCC were also invited to the opening and were given the opportunity to pick the brains of Pope & Smith about how they reached their position in the game.
