Strike Action to Impact Men's Ashes - Kia Oval Skip to main content

The RMT union has announced three dates of strike action later this month, on the 20, 22 and 29 July. This will affect Train Operating Companies (TOCs) across the country, including those running services into London including South Western Railway (SWR) which operates services from Vauxhall station (the closest station to The Kia Oval).

The last of these three dates, Saturday 29 July, will affect Day 3 of the LV= Insurance Men’s Ashes Test match at The Kia Oval.

Customers intending to travel on the rail network should be aware that strike action will mean far fewer services operating and within a reduced set of hours. Although service levels have yet to be announced, TOCs have on previous RMT strike dates advised against all but essential travel by train as a result.

We ask people to plan their travel ahead of time to limit disruption and potentially alter your plans if you were intended on travelling by train. Journey planners are available via National Rail and TFL and will be updated closer to the time of the match, once service levels have been announced.
