West Indies bowler Kemar Roach is in fine form ahead of his Surrey stint, ending the recent Test series with Sri Lanka as his nation’s leading wicket taker.
Roach took nine wickets for 212 runs from 73 overs across the two-match series, including a number of impressive scalps at the top of the tourists’ order.
His pace earned him six wickets in the first match before a three-wicket haul in the second game, both of which were drawn. In that first match, his scalps included both openers Lahiru Thirimanne & Dimuth Karunaratne
He will now travel to the UK, although he will not be available for Thursday’s LV= County Championship opener with Gloucestershire as he undergoes a period of isolation under COVID guidelines. He will remain part of the Surrey squad until the end of our seventh red-ball fixture of the season, against Middlesex at The Kia Oval between 20th and 23rd May.
