Surrey begin their Royal London One Day Cup campaign on Tuesday (August 2) when they entertain Leicestershire at Woodbridge Road, Guildford.

Having been placed into Group A of the competition – Surrey will face Leicestershire (Guildford), Warwickshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire at home. Surrey will travel to Durham (South Northumberland CC), Sussex, Nottinghamshire (Welbeck) and Middlesex (Radlett).

Champions Glamorgan are in Group B of the competition, along with Derbyshire, Essex, Hampshire, Kent, Lancashire, Northamptonshire, Worcestershire and Yorkshire.

HOW THE TOURNAMENT WORKS

Each team will play eight group stage matches – four home and four away.

The top three counties at the end of the group stage progress to the knockout stages.

The two first-placed counties progress directly to a home semi-final on 30 August.

The second-placed teams will host the third-placed team in the opposite group in the playoffs on 26 August, with the winners progressing to the semi-finals.

Trent Bridge will host the Royal London Cup final which returns to a Saturday this year, on 17 September.

GUILDFORD

Surrey will start their Royal London One Day Cup campaign at Guildford’s Woodbridge Road ground. The club’s affiliation with the ground dates back to 1938. Unfortunately, the opening match at Guildford has reached capacity. Any Members who have not reserved a ticket will be refused entry to the ground.

SURREY SQUAD

Surrey will be without a number of players due to The Hundred running alongside the Royal London One-Day Cup.
