South East Stars, the team representing the London & South East Centre of Excellence for women’s cricket, have today learned of their fixtures for the one-off Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

The first XI will play in a 50 over regional championship, named after the legend for this year only, comprising of the eight regions, starting on Saturday 29th August.

This competition will see the eight sides split into two groups of four, with the four sides to play each other home and away.

The winners of the the two groups will then meet in a final on Saturday 26th September. The final will be hosted by the finalist with the most points at the end of the group stage.

South East Stars will begin their season with home matches against Western Storm & Sunrisers on 29th & 31st August. Both are set to be played at Kent’s Beckenham ground.

They will then travel to Hove, Bristol & Chelmsford to face Southern Vipers, Western Storm & Sunrisers respectively on 5th, 11th & 13th September. They complete their group stage at The Kia Oval on 19th September against Southern Vipers.

So far, only four players are contracted to the South East Stars. Alice Davidson-Richards, Sophia Dunkley, Tash Farrant & Bryony Smith have all signed professional terms with the team. The remainder of the squad will be confirmed in due course, signing on paid-as-you-play contracts.
