A strong squad of 13, including ten members of the professional squad, has been named for Surrey’s 2nd XI friendly with Hampshire at Guildford CC between the 12th and 15th April.
All fit and available members of the professional squad who did not play in the LV= County Championship match with Gloucestershire are expected to play some part in the fixture while Gareth Batty will be at the match in a coaching capacity.
This is the 2nd XI’s only warm up fixture before their 2nd XI Championship begins with a trip to Billericay CC to play Essex from the 19th April.
Alongside the professionals is Academy batsman Ben Geddes, who recently featured in an internal fixture ahead of the start of the competitive season. Billy Mead, an MCC Young Cricketer in 2019, will keep wicket while Jack Winterbottom, a right arm seamer, will also feature.
In accordance with government guidelines, this match will be played behind closed doors and no spectators will be permitted at Guildford Cricket Club.
