Surrey County Cricket Club is proud to announce the return of its annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration, now entering its fourth year. This flagship event is a cornerstone of the Club’s commitment to being a “Club for All,” where every supporter feels seen, welcomed, and celebrated.
This year’s Pride celebration will culminate in a special double-header at The Kia Oval on Wednesday 18 June, featuring two thrilling Vitality Blast fixtures: Surrey women vs. Lancashire Thunder in the afternoon, followed by Surrey men vs. Sussex Sharks in the evening. Both matches will be themed around celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with a range of activations and activities for supporters to enjoy.
As part of the Club’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and visibility, Surrey will be partnering with the ECB, Out 4 Cricket, Sussex County Cricket Club and Lancashire County Cricket Club to jointly activate around the fixture, sending a powerful message of unity across the sport. This partnership underscores a shared vision: to make cricket a truly welcoming space for all.
At the heart of Surrey’s Pride initiative is Proud Surrey, the Club’s LGBTQ+ Supporters’ Association, which continues to grow year-on-year and is actively welcoming new members. Proud Surrey is now a year-round presence in the Club’s community, ensuring representation and visibility far beyond a single month of celebration. Proud Surrey will have a meeting point underneath the SSE Energy Solutions Stand on the matchday and supporters can find out more about Proud Surrey here.
Pride Themed Matchday Highlights at the Kia Oval – Wednesday 18 June:

A Club-Wide Commitment
Surrey CCC CEO Steve Elworthy said:
“We are incredibly proud that Surrey is a Club for All – diversity and inclusion is central to how we will grow both our Club and indeed our sport. Vauxhall is a historic home of the LGBTQ+ community in London and we recognise the significance of our high profile sport supporting the community to feel safe and welcome”.
Across the year internally and through our local community partners like Out 4 Cricket, we are working together to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and make cricket a welcome space. This is a Club-wide initiative, and we are proud to have a series of internal staff training and educational initiatives around inclusion and the LGBTQ+ community to build further education and engagement.”
Supporters are welcomed by the Club to attend the themed matchday on 18 June and throughout the month of June as we celebrate the diversity of our community and reaffirm our commitment to cricket as a game for everyone.
