Our English domestic season may be behind us for another year but there’s still cricket going on to keep us all entertained. What cricket will Surrey players be involved in throughout November?
COVID-19 reduced the English season from six months to two. However, with cricket back up and running around the world let’s see where our players are headed.
ENGLAND MEN IN SOUTH AFRICA
Three T20Is and three ODIs will be played in South Africa between the 27th November and 9th December, starting with the T20I run. The squad for this tour is still to be announced but Sam Curran, Tom Curran & Jason Roy have all been part of England’s recent white-ball plans.
Will these be on the plane? Will any other Surrey men join them? We’ll have the latest on kiaoval.com once it’s confirmed.
IPL
Sam Curran’s IPL group stage ends today with Chennai Super Kings and our all-rounder will be hoping a big performance could nudge him up the MVP table. Tom Curran has also been playing for Rajasthan Royals who are up against Kolkata Knight Riders this afternoon.
With or without the Currans, the IPL will continue with the knockout stages culminating in the final on the 10th November.
WBBL
Nat Sciver’s Women’s Big Bash League season at Melbourne Stars began last weekend with a fixture that was washed out but not before she dismissed England teammate Tammy Beaumont with her own bowling and took a stunning diving catch.
The WBBL will take place each weekend throughout the month and we’ll bring you updates on how our all-rounder is getting on.
BBL preparation
BBL 10 begins on 3rd December but if not selected in England’s touring squad of South Africa our boys will head over early. Jason Roy has recently signed for Perth Scorchers while Tom Curran will be returning to the Sydney Sixers, where he has been so impressive in recent years.
Oh boy, Jason Roy!

We’ll have all the latest from the build-up to and fixtures during this year’s Big Bash.
Return to The Kia Oval
Surrey’s players without other commitments will return to The Kia Oval for winter training on 16th November. Much of this will be focused on fitness, with the cricket skills training to ramp up after the Christmas & New Year break.
Foundation & Academy coaching
All while this is going on, our Foundation sessions are continuing at The Kia Oval and in the wider county of Surrey and our winter programmes are getting under way for all the juniors in our Surrey Academy & age group sides working on their game ahead of next summer.
