A full round-up of everything that happened between Surrey and Glamorgan at Sophia Gardens in the Royal London Cup on Tuesday.

WHAT HAPPENED

Surrey were roundly beaten by Glamorgan in this Royal London Cup encounter.

It started badly for the visitors, who lost opener Mark Stoneman first ball of the match when he edged Michael Hogan to first slip. There was little joy for his fellow opener Hashim Amla, who made four from 24 balls before eventually succumbing.

Rikki Clarke, batting at five, top scored for Surrey with 35 but lost his wicket while seeking to eek out as many runs as possible when batting with the tail.

Ryan Patel (22) and Conor McKerr (20) were the only two other batsmen to contribute significantly to the below par score of 132 all out from 44.1 overs.

Matt Dunn picked up the early wicket of Nick Selman in Glamorgan’s response but it was the second wicket partnership of 86 that really took the hosts to within touching distance. When opener Hamish Rutherford was caught at short extra cover for 58, Glamorgan needed just another 30 runs from 31 overs.

A short wobble ensued with two wickets each for Daniel Moriarty and McKerr but it was eventually up to Tom Cullen and Joe Cooke to get Glamorgan over the line with more than 23 overs and five wickets in hand.
