Surrey players Eva Gray, Jason Roy and Rhianna Southby will all play for The Kia Oval side Oval Invincibles in this year’s The Hundred.
The trio join current Surrey players Rory Burns, Sam Curran, Tom Curran & Reece Topley at the team for the 2021 edition of the tournament. 2021 will see the first iteration of The Hundred after Covid-19 forced the 2020 tournament to be cancelled.
Surrey Women & South East Stars batter Aylish Cranstone & Men’s T20 captain Jade Dernbach have also been confirmed for London Spirit, based at Lord’s.
Roy said: “I’m over the moon to be staying at Oval Invincibles. The Kia Oval has been my home for my entire career and I’m hoping to create a lot more positive memories there this summer.
“With the Curran boys, Reece and Rory, we’ve got a strong local core of players and with the quality of Sunil and others to add to that, I’m confident we’ve got the right balance in our squad to do well.”
The ECB have confirmed the remaining retained men’s players will be announced on February 4 while the women’s squads will continue to be announced in the coming months. For more information on the tournament, go to thehundred.com.
