SQUAD NEWS

Surrey’s Phoebe Franklin returns to this week’s squad for the first time this season. The allrounder was out of selection whilst recovering from a back injury sustained over the winter.

Ivreen Dhaliwal graduates to a two-week rookie contract from Surrey’s academy. The right-hand batter provides cover for Kira Chathli, Ryana MacDonald-Gay and Kalea Moore, who are away with England A in their series against India.

Laura Harris is unavailable for selection as an overseas in the Vitality County Cup.

LAST TIME OUT

Surrey enter the Vitality County Cup in the second round of the competition. Having finished second in last year’s competition, the Three Feather’s fell short to Lancashire in a wet final at Taunton.

Surrey began the competition by blowing Hampshire out of the water and Kira Chathli hitting a blistering 95 from 47 balls to secure their 57-run win.

From that point on, the Three Feathers were paired with Tier One teams. The start of this year’s competition against a Tier Two side means that, for the first team, Surrey will be playing a side from outside the nine professional counties, proposing new match-ups that will provide entertaining cricket.

Surrey hope to go a step further than last year and complete their run to the final with a trophy lift.
