Surrey’s Alice Capsey, Bryony Smith & Aylish Cranstone showed their class to win the inaugural Charlotte Edwards Cup for South East Stars against Northern Diamonds on Sunday.
Captain Smith and fellow opener Cranstone made 37 and 35 respectively to get South East Stars off to the perfect start in their chase of 139 from 20 overs.
Then with wickets falling around her, Capsey did much of the remaining hard work to finish 40 not out from 26 balls and seal the title for South East Stars in its first ever year of competition.
Capsey, Danielle Gregory & Smith all bowled with Smith picking up one wicket and Capsey & Gregory getting through six overs between them.
In total, seven Surrey Women represented South East Stars across the competition with Chloe Brewer, Kira Chathli & Kirstie White also featuring.
