Surrey Women played out two T20 friendlies with Kent at Beckenham Cricket Ground on Sunday ahead of the start of their season next week.
The two sides will meet again at Chipstead CC on 25th April for the first match of the Vitality Women’s T20 competition.
Aylish Cranstone was the star for Surrey with the bat in the first match of the day, making 44 from 33 balls, as Surrey made 129/8 from their 20 overs. Kira Chathli made 28 and Chloe Brewer 14 in support of Cranstone.
Kent’s chase went right to the final ball but it was unbeaten South East Stars batter Susie Rowe with 42 that won the match for the hosts. Danielle Gregory took two wickets while there was one each for Gordon, Kerins, skipper Hannah Jones and England all-rounder Bryony Smith.

Leg spinner Gregory was again the star bowler for Surrey in the second match, claiming 3/23 from her four overs including the wickets of England players Alice Davidson-Richards & Tash Farrant. Off spinner Alice Capsey claimed two while Izzy Berry & Claudie Cooper took one each as Kent posted 128/7 from their 20 overs.
In response, Surrey made just 93 runs from their 20 overs. Openers Capsey and Rhianna Southby scored 29 and 15 respectively and looked to have Surrey off to a decent start but there were several struggles from there with only Kira Chathli (17) and Amy Gordon (11) reaching double figures.
