Surrey Women have named a squad of 14 players for this weekend’s Vitality T20 openers with Kent at Chipstead Coulsdon & Walcountians CC on Sunday 25th April.
After winning the London Cup & London Championship in the shortened season of 2020, Surrey Women will return to this ECB organised competition which was absent from the schedule last summer.
Each match day in this competition will consist of two T20 fixtures, starting at 11am and 3pm respectively. The two sides will know each other well, with many of the players having trained together for regional side South East Stars through the winter.
Aylish Cranstone and Bryony Smith, two of the five professionals with South East Stars, will feature for Surrey. Izzy Berry, a young all-rounder who has come through the Surrey age groups, could be in line for her senior debut.
Due to government restrictions, spectators are not permitted on the day. However, Chipstead Coulsdon & Walcountians CC are offering very limited hospitality spaces with a view of cricket. If you would like to enquire about this, please contact Derek Chalkley on derek.chalkley@btinternet.com or Alec Martin on alecmartin24@gmail.com.
Anyone arriving at the ground on Sunday without prior arrangement will not be admitted. We will attempt to live stream these fixtures and these will be shared on kiaoval.com. A live scorecard will also be available here.
