With the Vitality Blast season fast approaching, everyone is getting excited to see The Kia Oval full and enjoying some of the best sport London has to offer.

One of the most entertaining aspects of T20 cricket is, of course, the huge totals teams are capable of amassing. The Kia Oval is famous for its trustworthy, bat friendly pitches meaning scores can often be quite high.

After 18 seasons of the format at our world famous ground, we decided to take a look at the five highest T20 totals Surrey have ever made at The Kia Oval.

208/1 – Surrey v Somerset, July 2015

122 for our England man Jason Roy shone out on this day for Surrey. Those runs came from 65 balls with eight fours and a huge six sixes and he was ably supported by Kumar Sangakkara (31) and Rory Burns (46*). A team performance in the field and with the ball restricted the vistors to 170/7 from their 20 overs.

212/4 – Surrey v Kent, July 2016

That man again, Jason Roy. This time he shared an unbelievable opening partnership of 187 with Aaron Finch. Roy was the chief aggressor with 120 from 62 balls while Finch made 79 from 51. Scoreboard pressure told on our oldest rivals who made 175/5 from their allotted overs.

215 – Surrey v Glamorgan, May 2015

Amazingly, this was actually a losing effort for Surrey. Lower order batter Zafar Ansari top scored with 67 while opener Steven Davies made 58 and Kumar Sangakkara 37. It didn’t prove quite enough though in response to Glamorgan’s 240, led by a 91 for Colin Ingram.

222/4 – Surrey v Essex, July 2018

Half-centuries for Aaron Finch & Ben Foakes then spectacular cameos from Ollie Pope and Rikki Clarke made this a special night of run scoring. Essex made 183 from their 20 overs in reply.

222/1 – Surrey v Middlesex, August 2018

One of the best nights of T20 cricket ever? Middlesex made 221 from their 20 overs with a marvellous Paul Stirling hundred and the London Derby looked heavily weighted in their favour.

That was until Aaron Finch had his say. He ended 117* with Jason Roy making 89 at the other end and those in attendance at The Kia Oval had a night they would talk about for the rest of their life.
