Ten more Surrey players have been selected to play in the fifth edition of The Hundred after the conclusion of last night’s draft.
Oval Invincibles opted for their Right to Match to bring Paige Scholfield back to the Kia Oval-based franchise, also picking up her Surrey teammates Jordan Clark, Phoebe Franklin and Kalea Moore.
Jamie Overton was the first pick in the men’s draft and the explosive all-rounder will be plying his trade at Lord’s for London Spirit.
Welsh Fire used their Right to Match option to bring back Sophia Dunkley to Cardiff while Reece Topley is also south bound and will be representing Southern Brave.
Dan Lawrence was snapped up by Northern Superchargers and will call Headingley his home for the duration of the 2025 edition of The Hundred.
Alice Monaghan returns to Manchester Originals, the franchise she played for in 2024, and Emma Jones will be wearing the colours of Trent Rockets, who signed her in 2023 too.
Other names to be picked up included many big names such as David Warner, Georgia Voll, Heather Knight, Rachin Ravindra, Deandra Dottin, and Noor Ahmad. They join a host of international and England players already selected for the competition, including Steve Smith, Hayley Matthews, Kane Williamson, Beth Mooney, Nat Sciver-Brunt and Jos Buttler.
In total, 66 players were selected in The Hundred Draft, with the 16 men’s and women’s squads now almost finalised. All teams will have a further chance to add to their group, at the Vitality Wildcard Draft in May, rewarding form in the Vitality Blast men’s and women’s competitions.
Paige Scholfield said: “I have loved every minute at the Invincibles over the last couple of years and absolutely love playing at the Kia Oval in front of our amazing fans. I’m absolutely delighted to be back and can’t wait for the summer ahead.”
Jamie Overton said: “I’m over the moon to be joining London Spirit. It will be great to work with Justin Langer, and it’s no bad thing to be joining a team that plays their home games at Lord’s. I’ve loved my time in The Hundred, it’s a lot of fun and the cricket is world class. I’m really happy to have been picked up by Spirit and I look forward to getting out there in August.”
