Surrey’s left arm seamer Reece Topley has been added to England’s T20 World Cup squad for the remainder of the tournament.

27-year-old Topley replaces Tymal Mills in the squad, who was forced to withdraw on Wednesday with a right thigh strain.

Mills sustained the injury bowling in the T20 World Cup Super 12s match against Sri Lanka on Monday in Sharjah before results of the scan on Tuesday night revealed the extent of the injury.

Topley goes straight into the squad and is available for selection for England’s final group stage fixture on Saturday, against South Africa, and any subsequent knockout matches.

The news comes on the same day as Topley was confirmed as a new signing for Melbourne Renegades in the upcoming edition of the Big Bash League, starting in early December.
