Yorkshire wrapped up a comprehensive seven-wicket victory against Surrey’s second XI on the final day at Guildford
It took Yorkshire less than 30 overs to reach the required target of 165 – which they did with the loss of three wickets.
Surrey began the final day on 156/6, with Sai Sudharsan 56 not out. The Indian batter could only add four runs to his overnight score before he departed to Leech.
Leech then took the wicket of Matt Dunn to leave Surrey 184/4. Tommy Ealham (36 not out) and Amar Virdi (21) offered resistance for 10 overs before Ben Mike removed Virdi and Seb Stuart-Reckling twice in three balls as Surrey were bowled out for 214.
Will Luxton (58) and Yash Vagadia (81) got the visitors off to a flying start in their persuit of 165. The opening pair raced to 111 before Sai Sudharsan’s leg spin removed Luxton. With the scores level, Sudharsan removed Vagadia and Harry Duke in consecutive balls before Will Fraine hit a boundary to give the white rose county the victory.
