Video applications are now open for girls and boys in Surrey to show their cricket skills and join the Surrey Talent Pathway in the 2026 intake!
After receiving a record number of entries in 2025, the video assessments are returning for a fourth year to allow young and aspiring cricketers, who believe they are of the ability to be a Surrey CCC Performance cricketer, to nominate themselves. You can submit video content and personal details to our coaches, demonstrating skills as a batter, bowler, or wicket keeper.
The aim of these video assessments is to widen the scope of the talent identification process of young cricketers in the county and make it more open, easy, and equitable. Before this initiative was introduced in 2023, only local clubs, schools, and other cricketing organisations were able to nominate players for an assessment.
Surrey Talent Pathway lays the foundation from a young age for talented cricketers to grow and develop into world-class cricketers, helping the Club serve as a gateway to the national side. 22 professionals from Surrey’s current men’s squad are homegrown players, and six from the women’s team have progressed from the Pathway, while four others are professionals at another county.
Players such as Ralphie Albert and Alex French, both 2026 U19 World Cup finalists with England, alongside the likes of Ollie Sykes and Emily Burke, are the latest graduates of the Talent Pathway to pull on the Three Feathers.

Chris Taylor, Head of Talent Pathway at Surrey Cricket, added:
“Our objective was to open new doors for aspiring cricketers in Surrey when we launched the video applications for the Talent Pathway in 2023. While we know it is a long-term project, it was extremely promising to receive a record number of entries last year. We’re keen to keep building on that momentum and excited to see players from all backgrounds showcasing their skills and putting themselves forward for the 2026 intake.”
Jennifer Jackson‑Tullett, Head of Talent Pathway at Surrey Cricket, said:
“We’re proud to be a leading county in women and girls’ cricket at the recreational and community level, and our open video assessments are an important step for identifying talented young cricketers playing across the county and bringing them into the Surrey Pathway. We want to make sure we are reaching every corner of Surrey, and would encourage clubs, schools, parents and the wider cricketing community to help spread the word about the programme.”
