Surrey’s Bryony Smith makes the PCA Women’s Team of the Year after a stellar season for the South East Stars and Trent Rockets

Last week, it was announced that Smith was nominated for the PCA Women’s Player of the Year after a brilliant season with bat and ball. Smith racked up 352 MVP points

It’s a hat-trick for the South East Stars captain, as she has made the team for the all three years of the award since its inauguration in 2021.

Smith scored 256 runs in this season’s Charlotte Edwards Cup, the second highest in the tournament. Additionally, Smith showed her power during the Hundred as she smashed eight sixes – the highest in the competition.

Smith is joined in the XI by South East Stars team-mate Paige Scholfield. The all-rounder has excelled since joining the Stars last winter. Paige scored 439 runs in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, including two hundreds – including a career best 134 not out.
