Rory Burns, Ollie Pope and Ben Foakes have all been named in England’s squad for the two LV= Insurance Test Matches against New Zealand next month.

Their selection means the Surrey trio will now miss the LV= Insurance County Championship game against Gloucestershire at The Kia Oval next week and the start of the Vitality Blast campaign, which begins with a trip to Lord’s to play Middlesex on Thursday June 10th.

If selected in the final XI, it will be first home Test Match for Foakes, whose previous eight Test Match appearances have all come on tour.

All-rounder Sam Curran was not considered for selection in the squad after his recent participation in the IPL and subsequent spell in quarantine after the tournament was postponed.

The squad will report to its London base on Friday 28 May ahead of the first LV= Insurance Test starting at Lord’s on Wednesday 2 June.
