Dan Lawrence and Jemima Spence picked up the Players’ Player of the Year awards at the 2026 Awards Night at the Kia Oval
Lawrence picked the award up after an outstanding season, where he scored 982 County Championship runs form 16 innings at an average of 65.46. His outstanding form earned him a recall to the England Test team. The all-rounder also picked up 19 wickets across both formats with his hand off-spin bowling.
Jemima Spence was awarded the Player of the Year award from the rest of her dressing room after a breakthrough season for the Three Feathers. Frustrated with injury over the last couple seasons, Spence made her mark with the bat and gloves this season. A genuine 360-degree player, Spence scored 367 runs in the T20s (County Cup and Vitality Blast). She also added 279 runs in the One Day Cup as Surrey reached the semi-finals. With or without the gloves, Spence’s attitude in the field was exemplary, helping her to the prestigious award.
One Day Cup captain Kira Chathli picked up the Women’s Batter of the Year award for another brilliant 2026 summer. Chathli led from the front in the Metro Bank, scoring 351 runs from her 11 innings. She scored 224 runs across the Vitality Blast and County Cup.
Ryana MacDonald-Gay picked up the Women’s Bowler of the Year award after a brilliant season for the seam bowler. Ryana picked up 18 wickets in the Blast, including career-best figures of 6/11 against Durham. After a tricky twelve months with injury, Ryana found herself back in the England side for their September series against Ireland.
All-rounder Alice Monghan picked up the T20 Player of the Year award as Surrey enjoyed a solid T20 campaign with silverware just eluding the Three Feathers. Monaghan hit 257 runs in the middle order, as well taking 10 wickets with the ball. Monaghan’s efforts helped Surrey reach the final of the County Cup and the semi-final of the Blast, where they lost both matches to The Blaze.
Dan Lawrence picked up the Men’s Batter of the Year Award after an outstanding season with the bat. Lawrence passed 50 six times in the Championship and converted each time to three figures – including a double century vs Hampshire. Lawrence also added 240 runs from 11 T20 innings at a strike rate of 148.14 – including a brilliant 94 not out vs Hampshire.
Matthew Fisher was the standout Surrey bowler in the County Championship, which saw him pick up the Bowler of the Year award. Fisher took 37 wickets, including a career-best 6/25 versus Yorkshire. His performance earned him a consistent place in England’s Test match squad, including his second Test cap in the defeat to New Zealand at the Kia Oval.
T20 legend Jason Roy won the Men’s T20 Player of the Year award after an outstanding season with the Three Feathers. Jason scored 473 runs from 13 matches including an incredible 103 not out vs Sussex Sharks. Roy averaged 43:00 at the top of the order at an impressive strike-rate of 154.57.
Surrey’s Visually Impaired captain Leanne Harvey has been named Disability Player of the Year thanks to her impeccable attitude towards captaincy both on and off the field. Following the passing of coach Mark Allen in 2025, Harvey took on the captaincy of a squad going through a deeply difficult period and helped the team find stability again. Her calm, supportive and thoughtful approach has given the squad confidence, with her leadership growing with every game. The team has welcomed new members this summer and now includes more women than any other VI squad in the country, a reflection of the welcoming culture Leanne has helped build.
Batter Ivreen Dhaliwal was awarded with the Women’s Emerging Player award. Ivreen is an exciting young batter who has performed consistently well in the Academy and Second XI sides this summer. Ivreen was rewarded with her first short term professional contract and making her first team debut against Durham.
Young batter Alfie Haxton won the Boy’s Emerging Player of the Year award. Haxton, who plays his club cricket for Banstead, has scored bundles of runs for the U18s, Surrey 2s and for London & East at the Super 4s competition. His 263 against Yorkshire at Guildford is a record high score for a pathway player. Haxton hit 932 runs from 23 innings for the U18s at an average of 44.38. He also scored a century for the Surrey Second XI away at Somerset and 104 for London & East against South West at the Super 4s competition.
Women’s Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach Guy Pitchers was voted as the Women’s Team Member of the Year award. Guy joined the team since the inception of the South East Stars and has continually worked to support players through the professionalisation of the squad, helping them with their strength and conditioning work to help them perform on the field, as well as helping players through the tougher sides of the game like getting back to full fitness from injury and giving the squad energy on a daily basis.
Nathan Barnwell may have had a frustrating summer due to a back injury, but his outstanding efforts as team player meant that he was voted the Graham Kersey Team Member of the Year by his peers. Barnwell has always been willing to go the extra mile for his teammates, putting their needs above his own. He’s spent much of the summer as a 12th man for the men’s team due to being sidelined with injury and has done every day with an impeccable attitude.
