Reigate Priory vs Shepperton
Reigate Priory continued their perfect start to the season with a 25-run victory over Shepperton, making it ten wins from ten matches. Batting first, Reigate posted 220/9 from their 35 overs, with M. Hetherington top-scoring with 43 from 28 balls, including four sixes. L. Harris also made an important 37 from 31 balls.
Shepperton’s reply was led by L. Cardoso, who produced an excellent unbeaten 68 from just 41 balls, hitting 12 fours and a six. However, Reigate’s bowling attack held firm, with M. Hetherington and G. Fairclough taking two wickets each to restrict Shepperton to 195/6.
Richmond vs Sutton
Sutton secured a convincing 77-run victory over Richmond after recovering from a difficult start to post 191/5. S. Mohan led the recovery with 70 from 83 balls, while G. Kaur added 63. The pair shared a crucial 133-run partnership to put Sutton firmly in control.
Richmond struggled to keep pace in the chase, with B. Menezes top-scoring with 30. A. Shah added an unbeaten 21, but P. Dutta was the standout Sutton bowler, taking an impressive 3/11 from seven overs as Richmond finished on 114/6.
Weybridge vs Streatham & Marlborough
Weybridge produced the biggest win of the week, beating Streatham & Marlborough by 132 runs after posting a huge 312/4 from 35 overs. D. Feast was the star with a brilliant 110 from 72 balls, while L. Weston remained unbeaten on 79 from 52 balls. E. Furness also contributed 67.
Streatham’s chase was led by C. Hanslal, who made an excellent 92 from 76 balls, but the rest of the batting line-up struggled to keep up with the required rate. E. Duncan took 3/22 and L. Weston 2/14 as Streatham were bowled out for 180 in 32.3 overs.
Best of the Rest
Across the rest of the Women’s Championship, several sides continued to strengthen their positions as the season moves towards its final stages.
In Division One, Wimbledon recorded a 62-run victory over Ashtead after posting an impressive 230-2, with J. Penfold hitting 128. Spencer 2nd XI produced a dominant 148-run win over Chertsey, bowling them out for just 35, while Dulwich defeated Woodmansterne by seven wickets after chasing down 175.
In Division Two East, Reigate Priory 2nd XI comfortably beat Banstead by nine wickets after dismissing them for just 55. Horley also picked up a five-wicket victory over Purley, while Streatham & Marlborough 2nd XI and Oxted & Limpsfield played out the only tie of the week, both finishing on 124.
In Division Two West, Esher defeated Valley End by 95 runs after bowling them out for just 52. Guildford continued their strong season with a 78-run win over Sunbury, while Malden Wanderers recorded an emphatic 159-run victory against Godalming after posting 247-8.
Finally, in Division Three North, East Molesey maintained their perfect record with a huge 162-run victory over Egham. East Molesey smashed 282-1 from just 25 overs before bowling Egham out for 120, making it nine wins from nine.
