Surrey CCC will be bringing fans and Members the best coverage yet after making further improvements to the broadcast of County Championship, T20 Blast and One Day Cup cricket ahead of the 2023 season.

Every non-televised game will be broadcast on the Surrey CCC YouTube channel, Surrey CCC website, ECB website and ECB app with the action covered by a minimum of four operated cameras, with other cameras positioned in key points around the ground, ensuring fans won’t miss a second of the action as Surrey defend their County Championship crown.

Commentators including Adam Collins, Dan Norcross, Henry Moeran and Phil Walker will put their words to the action alongside summarisers, including best-selling author and ‘Tailender’, Felix White, the Christopher Martin-Jenkins Young Journalist of the Year Taha Hashim and Wisden podcast host Yas Rana.

Regular highlights will be posted across all Surrey CCC social media channels, with full highlights of every day’s play available on the Club’s YouTube channel shortly after the end of each day’s play.

In the T20 Blast, matches will be hosted by presenter Betty Glover, who will be joined by special guests from around the Club and the worlds of sport and entertainment, with fans being able to tune in early to enjoy a pre-game show and then see expert pundits discussing the action after the match has finished.

In August, Surrey will also be covering every ball of the One Day Cup, including both games played at Guildford CC.

The broadcasts will also welcoming regular guests from the world of cricket and beyond, including former Wisden editor and Telegraph journalist Scyld Berry, who will be joining during the first home game of the season to discuss his new book on county cricket. It is also hoped that Surrey players will be joining the commentators throughout the summer, providing an insight on the campaign from inside the dressing room.

For those looking for radio coverage, Mark Church will continue his hugely popular radio commentaries on BBC London, which will once again be available across all BBC channels including the BBC Sport website and on occasion BBC Radio Five Live Sports Extra.

The other seventeen first-class counties will be offering similar services, so fans should be able to watch every ball, home and away, until the very last day of the campaign in Southampton on Friday September 29th.

Jon Surtees, Surrey CCC Head of Community, Public Affairs and Projects, said: “We’re really excited for cricket fans from around the world to tune into our new look broadcasts this summer. The Club has worked hard to innovate in this area for the last seven years and is confident that our broadcasts this summer will be the best yet.

“With the ability to show the games worldwide on YouTube, cricket fans from across the globe will be able to tune in for free, wherever they are, to watch every ball of our home matches in the LV= Insurance County Championship.”

Adam Collins, the 2020 Cricket Writers’ Club Christopher Martin-Jenkins Broadcaster of the Year and a regular feature on Surrey channels, said: “Surrey are a proud and successful club, generating plenty of interest every time they take the field, so it’s only right that their live stream reflects this with dedicated focus.

“We are looking forward to putting on a quality show throughout season 2023, always focused on the action in front of us, but, in the best traditions of county cricket commentary, you can also expect us to drift where the day takes us when appropriate to do so.

“It promises to be a lot of fun with a range of strong, interesting and diverse voices – tune in on YouTube and tell your cricket-loving mates, Surrey fans or otherwise, to do the same.”
