Sussex opener Tom Clark scores century in rain shortened pre-season friendly

Sussex resumed on the second day on 60/1 after bad light halted proceedings on the first day. Opener Tom Clark looked to score from the off on the south coast.

Clark and Alsop (32) put on 124 runs for the second wicket partnership, with Clark finding the boundary twenty times on his way to three figures.

Cam Steel got the breakthrough, as Alsop clipped the ball to the waiting hands of Jamie Smith at short leg. Clark reached three figures an over later and duely retired.

Sussex reached 165/3 at lunch. Unfortunately, the rain began to fall and play was suspended for the day. A scorecard from the match can be found here.

Surrey face Kent in a pre-season friendly at The Kia Oval on Thursday and Friday. There will be an open gate for both days.
