Left‑arm leg spinner Izzy Sidhu has signed her first professional rookie contract with Surrey after impressing during the winter training block and pre‑season.
Sidhu has been part of the Surrey Academy since 2025 and featured for Surrey’s Second XI last summer as well as representing the county side since 2023. Following a strong 2025 season, she continued to train with the squad over the winter and toured South Africa with the side during pre‑season.
The signing adds depth to Surrey’s squad with an additional spin option to strengthen Surrey’s bowling attack.
Before joining Surrey, Sidhu represented Suffolk and has recorded career‑best figures of 3/7 in List A cricket and 3/17 in the shorter format.
Emma Calvert, Director of Women’s Cricket said, “Izzy has worked extremely hard over the last year and is showing promising development. We’re pleased to be able to reward that effort with a professional contract.
“Izzy will provide depth to our bowling attack during what will be a busy summer of cricket.”
Izzy Sidhu said “The team and staff have been so supportive to my progression over the last 18-months, and I’m looking forward to paying that back.
“Surrey’s facilities and staff are excellent so I can’t wait to take the pitch at the Kia Oval and hopefully help the side to more success.”
