Krish Patel has been registered to play for Surrey and makes his debut for the Three Feathers as a late replacement for Rory Burns for the game against Essex.

Patel, 17, is in his second year in the Surrey Academy and plays his club cricket at Esher CC. For Surrey’s U18 side the right-handed batter has scored two centuries and three 50s in compiling over 700 runs this year.

An elegant timer of a cricket ball, Patel has been part of the Surrey Talent Pathway since U9s and on the Elite Player Programme since the age of 14.

The middle-order batter attends St Paul’s School in Barnes and has played five times for the Surrey Second XI.
