Match-specific Information

HOW CAN I KEEP UP WITH THE MATCH?

Both matches will be broadcast live on Surrey Cricket’s YouTube channel, with a link to it placed on our Match Centre.

Surrey Cricket’s social media channels will provide live updates from the Kia Oval, with clips and highlights posted throughout the match. A written report and highlights will be shared at the end of the match. The post-play ‘Oval & Out’ podcast will be returning as well.

BAG SEARCH & PAT-DOWN BODY SEARCH

There will be heightened security in place for this match day. Spectators are advised to be prepared for bag searches taking place outside the gates before entering the ground, as well as undergoing a pat-down body search on a random selection basis.

As this is a ‘Category A’ fixture, spectators are NOT permitted to bring alcohol into the ground from outside.

BRIXTON SESSIONS – AFTER PARTY

Brixton Sessions are returning this summer. Join us in the Jardine Suite for an after-party from 5.45pm to 6.30pm as well as after the end of men’s match – open on a first-come, first-served basis.

Billy Magerison, who is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist blending blues, rock, reggae, and soul with Celtic influences, will be on stage from 5:45pm-6:30pm, before the band Honeydew Marmalade performs a range of genres, from rock and roll to modern pop, indie, and party anthems for 45 minutes after the conclusion of the men’s match.

PITCH LOCATION

Both matches against Lancashire will be played on a pitch that is centrally located.

Road Closure for Spectator Security

For around 1.5 hours before the start and after the end of the men’s Vitality Blast match, the road between Oval Tube Station and the junction between Harleyford Road and Durham Street (by The Beehive pub) will be closed to all traffic, including the cycle super highway. Vauxhall Street and Clayton Street will also become ‘Access Only’ during this period, accommodating all residents, visitors and deliveries, who will still be able to access all estate courtyards on the Kennington Park Estate.

The bus stops outside Oval Station and Archbishop Tenison’s School will be suspended, and the buses that serve those routes will be placed on temporary diversions. Vauxhall Bus Station and Kennington Park Post Office will be the nearest available bus stops during the road closure. Oval Tube station will continue to operate normally at all times. This decision has been taken in collaboration with the Metropolitan Police and Lambeth Council, after much consideration, to ensure public safety on major match days.
