Surrey legend Micky Stewart OBE was today welcomed onto the pitch during Tea in the LV= County Championship game against Yorkshire and presented with the ‘Key to The Oval’

In a wonderful moment in the history of Surrey County Cricket Club, Micky Stewart walked onto the pitch just after 3:30pm today, Wednesday September 21st, to the rapturous applause of a packed members’ Pavilion.

Micky was greeted in the outfield by Surrey interim Chair Martin Eadon and Kia UK CEO and President Paul Philpott.

There, Micky was presented with the ‘Key to The Oval’ in celebration of his 90th birthday and as a thank you for his lifetime of service to Surrey Cricket.

The Kia Oval has been renamed The Micky Stewart Oval for the duration of the LV= County Championship fixture between Surrey and Yorkshire, and this special presentation was another way we could show our appreciation to a true legend of our club.

Thank you, Micky.
