Surrey CCC is delighted to announce that Oli Slipper will be the next Chair of the Club, effective 1 October 2023.

Oli was recommended by the Nomination Committee following an extensive and thorough process over the last few months and elected as Chair by the General Committee at its meeting yesterday. He will serve as Chair Elect until he takes up the role on 1 October.

Martin Eadon, who was appointed Interim Chair on 1 September 2022 when Richard Thompson left the Club to become Chair of the ECB, will continue in that role until 30 September, at which time he will resume his role as Honorary Treasurer.

Oli is an experienced sports, media and technology entrepreneur and investor. He is Executive Chairman of Pitch International, the sports marketing agency and leading sports media rights advisor.

He played age group and second XI cricket for Surrey and has served on the Club’s Board and General Committee. He was Chair of Oval Invincibles but will step down from that role with immediate effect.

Martin Eadon said: “I am delighted that Oli will be our next Chair. We conducted a very thorough process and had applications from a number of excellent candidates. Oli has huge passion for the game, deep expertise in sports content and media, and the personal skills to lead our Club through the opportunities and challenges facing cricket over the next few years.”

Oli Slipper said: “I am incredibly proud and honoured to have been selected as the new Chair of Surrey CCC. It’s a very exciting time to be taking on this role. Our men’s team are the reigning county champions with a squad full of home-grown talent, women’s cricket is going from strength to strength and our membership is at an all-time high. I am also dedicated to continuing the outstanding community work Surrey is doing to make cricket as popular, inclusive, and diverse as possible. I look forward to continuing the outstanding work of my predecessors to ensure Surrey CCC and The Kia Oval remain at the pinnacle of domestic and international cricket.”
