Ebony Rainford-Brent has today received the Freedom of the City of London in recognition of her powerful stance against racism as well as her sporting achievements.

Our Director of Women’s Cricket and former England player received the award alongside West Indies bowling legend and fellow Sky broadcaster Michael Holding in a virtual ceremony on Tuesday.

Rainford-Brent and Holding worked together on a powerful film for Sky Sports this summer that discussed the Black Lives Matter protests and their experiences within the game and wider life.

Ebony has also been the key figure behind the birth and growth of the ACE Programme, designed to improve cricketing opportunities for young Black cricketers in London & the South East, in 2020.

You can find out more about the ACE Programme, which is now its own individual charity, here.
