West Indian fast bowler Kemar Roach has flown home after a scan confirmed he suffered a hamstring injury during day two of Surrey’s LV= County Championship match with Hampshire.

Roach had been due to play for Surrey in the first five red ball matches of the summer. He will now play no further part in the early phases of the campaign.

Speaking on social media, Roach said: “I’m gutted that my time at Surrey has come to an end due to a slight injury but I want to thank the whole Surrey family for the love and care they have shown.”
