A top order batsman who first played for Surrey in the U9s, Jacks made his Second XI debut against Hampshire in 2015 and featured regularly until the end of the 2017 season.
It was in the Royal London One-Day Cup in 2018 that Jacks made his step up to senior cricket with a particularly destructive century against Gloucestershire.
He featured in all formats for much of the rest of the year, with his match-winning catch against Lancashire being crowned the Moment of the Season too.
A regular for England U19s, Jacks earned his first Lions call-up early in 2019 before hitting the headlines with a 25-ball century during the pre-season tour of Dubai. His maiden Championship century followed in 2019.
2020 gave Jacks an opportunity to showcase his off-spin bowling. He took 13 wickets at 16.07 including career-best figures of 4/15 in the Vitality Blast. Paired with his 309 runs he was named MVP of the tournament.
