Surrey lifted the Girls U18 County One Day Knockout Cup yesterday, beating Yorkshire by 105 runs at Kibworth CC.

Opener Jemima Bowman was the star of the final, scoring a spectacular 142 off 128 balls, taking Surrey to a formidable 317/7 from their 50 overs, after the Three Feathers were inserted to bat.

Bowman received admirable support from her fellow opener Ivreen Dhaliwal (27) and wicketkeeper Hannah Burridge (51). A late cameo from Rosie Foster (29*) pushed Surrey past the 300 mark.

Bowman, at once anchoring the innings while also going well above a run a ball, shared stands of 78, 113 and 66 with Dhaliwal, Burridge, and Millie Ayling respectively.

With a big total to defend, the bowlers came out firing, with Flora Rogers (4/42) leading the charge. Daisy Perry (2/30), Libby Thabrew (2/41), and Rebecca Denman (1/36) were also among the wickets as Surrey bowled out Yorkshire for 212.

Amelia Oliver was the pick of the batters for the White Rose, notching up 84, and Amelia Love bowled well for her 2/38.

A special thank you goes to the Club’s SACS partner school, George Abbot School, for all their support to the team.
