Surrey Men’s fixtures for the 2024 domestic season have been released today

Surrey will once again open their defence of the County Championship with an away trip to Old Trafford to face Lancashire, starting Friday 5 April 2024. Rory Burns’ side will be hoping to go one better than last year and clinch their first Championship victory in Manchester since 2004.

A busy start to the season will see Surrey play seven County Championship matches in the opening eight weeks of the season. Championship fixtures in the opening block of the season will run from Friday to Monday in 2024 – a change from previous years.

The county champions start their home campaign at The Kia Oval on Friday 12 April with the visit of Somerset. The Three Feathers then return to the scene of the famous chase of 501 as the oldest rivalry in English cricket resumes at Canterbury from Friday 19 April.

Up next, Surrey will play three County Championship fixtures in a row at The Kia Oval against Hampshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire across the end of April and the start of May before finishing the first block of fixtures with a trip to Hampshire – where Rory Burns held the trophy aloft in 2023 – from Friday May 24.

Surrey open their Vitality Blast campaign away against the Hampshire Hawks before an epic T20 double-header at The Kia Oval to kick off the T20 home season on Sunday 2 June. South East Stars will begin the double-header as they take on Southern Vipers in the Charlotte Edwards Cup and Surrey will face last season’s Blast winners Somerset in the evening.

Chris Jordan’s side will play four Friday night matches in SE11 against Sussex Sharks (7 June), Gloucestershire (14 June), Glamorgan (21 June) and Middlesex (5 July). Surrey follow up their Friday night London derby with a visit from Kent Spitfires two days later on Sunday 7 July before finishing off the home campaign against Hampshire Hawks on Thursday 18 July.

The Vitality Blast campaign is punctuated by four day matches at newly-promoted Worcestershire (23 – 26 June) and a mouth-watering clash with 2023 runners up Essex at The Kia Oval (30 June – 3 July).

An international flavour at The Home of T20 Cricket sees England Men face Pakistan in an IT20 on Thursday 30 May before England Women face New Zealand in an IT20 on Saturday 13 July. Ben Stokes’ Test side end the Test-match summer at The Kia Oval with the visit of Sri Lanka from Friday 6 September in the final match of a three-game series. The Metro Bank One Day Cup will be played from July in 2024, with Surrey’s home fixtures against the Yorkshire Vikings (July 25), Glamorgan (July 28), Gloucestershire (July 30) and Nottinghamshire Outlaws (4 August). Guildford Cricket Club will be the venue for the final home group fixture against Nottinghamshire. Details on tickets for this fixture will be published at a later date.

Championship cricket will once again be played at The Kia Oval in August as Lancashire visit from Thursday 22 August, before Rory Burns’ side head up the M1 for a four-day trip to Trent Bridge from Thursday 29 August.

The culmination of all three domestic men’s competitions takes place in Super September, starting with the Vitality Blast quarter-finals from 3-5 September. Having tasted Finals Day in 2023, Chris Jordan’s side will be hoping to make it further at Edgbaston on Saturday 14 September 2024. The Metro Bank One Day Cup Final follows eight days later on Sunday 22 September at Trent Bridge.

The Three Feathers end the County Championship campaign with a trip to Taunton to face Somerset from Monday 9 September, before closing the home season with the visit of Division Two champions Durham before finishing the season away at Essex from 26 – 29 September.
