It’s the final month of the 2021 English domestic season and our players have got lots of cricket to come over the next few weeks before the winter sets in.
Here we take a look at the matches our cricketers will be involved in during the month of September.
England v India Test series
The final two matches of this series will be played over the coming weeks, with the first the annual five days at The Kia Oval.
Rory Burns, Sam Curran & Ollie Pope will all be hoping to make an impression on their home ground between 2nd & 6th before the series ends at Emirates Old Trafford between 10th & 14th September.
England Women v New Zealand
Sophia Dunkley & Nat Sciver are the two Surrey Women representatives in the England squad for the three-match T20I series that begins on Wednesday with matches following on Saturday & next Thursday.
The five-match ODI series will be played on 16th, 19th, 21st, 23rd & 26th September with that squad to be announced shortly.
England U19s v West Indies
England’s U19 squad will be announced shortly with some of Surrey’s academy talents hoping to feature. When that squad is announced, we’ll share the news on kiaoval.com.
The four ODIs will be played on 4th, 6th, 8th & 10th September.
LV= County Championship
Surrey’s first match of the four-match divisional stage was cancelled last week due to a positive Covid-19 Test in the Surrey camp. Upcoming matches depend on the testing status of the other players & coaches over the coming days. This will be confirmed as soon as a decision has been made by the ECB.
Should those tests come back negative and the fixtures be able to go ahead, Surrey will travel to Northamptonshire between 5th & 9th before Essex (12th – 15th) & Glamorgan (21st – 24th) visit The Kia Oval.
Indian Premier League
The IPL returns after its COVID enforced hiatus earlier this year on the 19th September. Sam Curran is in the Chennai Super Kings squad & Tom Curran is with the Delhi Capitals. Chris Jordan will play for Punjab Kings & recent Surrey man Tim David has a contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore.
