HOW CAN I KEEP UP WITH THE MATCH?

Play will get underway at 11:00am each day, and the game will be shown live on Surrey Live Broadcast. A link to the broadcast will be placed on the Surrey Match Centre and shared on the Club’s social media channels.

Surrey Cricket’s social media will provide live coverage from The Kia Oval, with match updates and clips posted throughout. At the end of play on each day, a written report with highlights and reactions will be published.

A live text commentary section will also be available on the Match Centre.

TRIBUTE TO GRAHAM THORPE

Surrey CCC will remember Graham Thorpe during this fixture. Both sets of players will wear black armbands and there will be a minute’s silence at 10:55 before play on the first day of the match.

A book of condolences has been opened by the Club and will be available for both Members and non-Members to sign during all four days of the game. If supporters would like to sign the book, please go to the Pavilion reception during the game.

There is also a space to lay flowers on the Pavilion forecourt next the John Edrich Gate, where there is a portrait of Graham attached to the gates.

The images of Surrey Club Captains Rory Burns and Amy Gordon that face the Pavilion Forecourt have also been replaced by two images of Graham Thorpe from his Surrey and England playing days.

LAST TIME OUT VS LANCS

The wet weather was the winner on the opening weekend as Lancashire and Surrey shared the points.

The first day of the match was completely washed out. The season eventually started for both teams at 1:10pm with Surrey electing to bowl.

Debutant Dan Lawrence was mightily impressive with the ball, bowling 28 overs and taking a deserved 4/91 that included four of the top six. Cam Steel came on to claim career best figures of 5/25 to dismiss the hosts for 202.

Rory Burns and Dom Sibley safely guided Surrey to 11/0 at the close of play against the spin of Nathan Lyon and Tom Hartley. Surrey added four more runs the next day for the loss of no wickets before the rain fell to curtail the best part of two days.
