Surrey Women hammered their Kent counterparts by 92 runs in the 50 over London Championship at Chipstead, Coulsdon & Walcountians Cricket Club on Sunday.

Chloe Brewer (62) and Kira Chathli (54*) starred in Surrey’s innings of 240/5 before four wickets from leg spinner Danielle Gregory ripped through Kent, who were eventually all out for 148 in the 46th over.

Surrey won the toss and elected to bat. Brewer & Maddie Blinkhorn-Jones shared an opening partnership of 114 with Brewer acting as the senior aggressor before she went, skying one in the 23rd over.

Blinkhorn-Jones went for 39 then Rhianna Southby (1) and Kirstie White (15) followed shortly afterwards before Chathli shared two excellent partnerships with Amy Gordon (24) and Izzy Berry (20).

Seamer Beth Kerins made the first breakthrough in Kent’s response, dismissing opener Grace Scrivens before Gregory and off-spinner Claudie Cooper burst through the middle order. Izzy Berry also picked up two wickets herself
