As confirmed by Sydney Sixers last week, Tom Curran will play no further part in BBL 11 in Australia.

Our seamer bowled just one over in Sixers’ last fixture, against Melbourne Stars last Wednesday, due to a back complaint and subsequent tests have ruled him out of the remainder of the competition. He will return to the UK immediately to begin his rehabilitation.

Curran had looked in good form, taking five wickets and scoring 33 runs in four fixtures, with Sixers sitting at the top of the table.

Posting on Instagram, he said: “Really disappointed to have my time with @sixersbbl cut short. Will be supporting the boys from home.”

Four Surrey players remain at the BBL. Laurie Evans is with Perth Scorchers, Chris Jordan at Sydney Sixers, Reece Topley is representing Melbourne Renegades and Dan Worrall is at Adelaide Strikers.
