Surrey County Cricket Club teamed with our overseas charity partner, Cricket Builds Hope, to stage a carol service at St. Mark’s Church in Kennington.

Hosted by the Vicar of St. Mark’s and Club Chaplain Steve Coulson, the service featured a traditional Christmas choir with a cricketing bent, Faire is the XI, as well as virtual readings from Test Match Special commentator Jonathan Agnew, Surrey’s Director of Women’s Cricket Ebony Rainford-Brent and the captain of the Rwandan Men’s National Team Eric Dusingizimana.

Cricket Builds Hope, formerly known as the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation, have been the Club’s overseas charity partner for the past five years. After successfully building a brand new cricket ground in the Rwandan capital of Kigali, the charity changed their name to Cricket Builds Hope and won an ICC award this year for a programme they run to use cricket as a tool for women’s empowerment in Rwanda.
