Before the opening of today’s play on Day 3 of the LV= County Championship game against Essex, Surrey County Cricket Club took a moment to acknowledge the performances of Will Jacks.

Will came through the academy system at Surrey and made his professional debut in 2018 in a One Day Cup game against Somerset. In the four years that followed, he established himself as one of the leading white ball players at the club in both 50 over and T20 cricket.

He has also shown his fantastic ability in red ball cricket, with yesterday’s superb 150 not-out being a timely reminder of his quality as a player.

Everyone at Surrey County Cricket Club is tremendously proud of his growth as a player, from a young man at the Academy to the international cricketer we know today.

We are delighted to say that Club Chair Richard Thompson was on hand to present Will Jacks with one of the games most coveted honours: his County Cap.

We look forward to many more impressive performances from Will in a Surrey Shirt.
