SURREY SQUAD

The Three Feathers have named a 14-player squad for tomorrow’s clash at The Kia Oval.

LAST TIME OUT

Saturday’s London Derby at Radlett was washed out without a ball being bowled, with Surrey and Middlesex taking a point each from the game.

Ben Foakes’ magnificent century was not enough for Surrey in their Metro Bank One Day Cup opener as they fell to a five wicket defeat to Leicestershire at The Kia Oval. Cam Steel scored a scintillating half-century to support Foakes before Ben Geddes smashed 67 to help Foakes to his maiden List A century as Surrey posted 325.

Surrey made early in-roads with the ball, but South African international Wiaan Mulder and Louis Kimber’s unbeaten sixth wicket stand of 146 got the Foxes over the line with 7.4 overs to spare.

KENT

Matt Parkinson has joined the Spitfires for this season’s One Day Cup competition before he makes the permanent switch to Canterbury from Lancashire for the 2024 season.

Jack Leaning has captained the side in this year’s competition.

The Spitfires sit in sixth place in Group A, having won 1 and lost two of their opening three matches. They won their opening game by 2 runs (DLS) against Yorkshire at Scarborough thanks to centuries from Ben Compton and Joey Evison. Since then, they were at the wrong end of a 246 run defeat to Leicestershire before losing by 125 runs to Lancashire at Blackpool.
