This season, Farrant also excelled with the bat, scoring 280 runs at an average of 46 in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy including a career-best 94 as the Stars beat the Southern Vipers in a thriller at Beckenham.
The all-rounder was part of the inaugural success of the Oval Invincibles in the 2021 edition of the Hundred, starring with 18 wickets at an average of just over 10.
Emma Calvert, Director of Women’s Cricket for Surrey, said: “Tash is an outstanding cricketer and brings so much experience and energy to the group. She has been a key part of the South East Stars leadership group on and off the field.
“She’s shown such strength of character throughout her career and I know this will continue in a Surrey shirt.”
Tash Farrant said “I’m extremely excited to have signed with Surrey and to be able to call the Kia Oval my home. I was part of the Stars set up from day one and the team and staff mean a huge amount to me. To have that continuity next year will be really important and I know we can keep building on the amazing environment in a Surrey shirt.
“It’s an honour to be named vice-captain and I believe I have a wealth of experience both on and off the pitch to help the team develop and grow to bring Surrey much success in the future. I can’t wait for next season already!”
