The Kia Oval is geared up to greet its visitors as the doors of the ground open for the cricket season.
2025 is a momentous year for Surrey County Cricket Club and the Kia Oval, celebrating 180 years of the team wearing the Three Feathers that has entertained Members and supporters across the ages.
As Surrey begins a landmark season – where Rory Burns’ side is chasing a fourth consecutive County Championship title on the bounce, the Club is welcoming its first fully professional women’s team, and south London is yet again set to be the centre of the cricketing world during three high-profile international fixtures – the Kia Oval has undergone many new developments to build on its status as one of the best cricket grounds in the world.
If you are walking into the stands for the first time this season, you will notice the new LED floodlights, designed in the shape of the traditional three feathers of the Prince of Wales, overlooking the field. Alongside elevating the viewing experience during evening games, these best-in-class floodlights are also a substantial step in the Club’s sustainability journey, helping the venue reduce its energy consumption by around 40%.
Brand new for the 2025 season are also two state-of-the-art changing rooms that has become the base for our men’s and women’s teams. Offering a roomy and comfortable space for both our professional squads as well as essential facilities for recovery and dining, the changing rooms are modern, tailor-made for performance cricket, and among the very best in the country.
As supporters stroll through the Micky Stewart Members’ Pavilion, they will recognise the names of many former and current Surrey men’s players in a stunning new section on the honours board wall. The new segment celebrates the maiden first-class milestones, including centuries, five-fors, and five dismissals in an innings for wicketkeepers.
The Club Museum has also been re-arranged to make it a more inviting space while the Galadari Stand has been re-named SSE Energy Solutions Stand as part of the Club’s extended partnership with the energy company.
