Surrey have named a thirteen man squad for tomorrow’s LV= County Championship match with Somerset at The Kia Oval – with all rounder Sam Curran named for the first time this summer.

Curran, who is on a back to playing programme supervised by ECB medical staff, replaces injured West Indian seamer Kemar Roach, in the only change from the thirteen named for last week’s innings victory over Hampshire.

Roach has flown home to the West Indies after suffering a hamstring injury during the Hampshire win.

From an injury perspective, Matthew Dunn is unavailable with a side strain, Conor McKerr with a fractured rib and Gus Atkinson is on a return to playing programme, overseen by the Club medical team.

Ben Geddes has a broken thumb and Tom Lawes is recovering from a recently diagnosed mild rib stress injury and is currently playing in the Second XI as a batter.

Tom Curran suffered a stress fracture to his back last November while in Sydney and is still recovering.

Chris Jordan, who returned to Surrey during the winter, is currently representing the Chennai Super Kings at the IPL and Jason Roy is still taking a break from the game. Batter Laurie Evans recently a signed a white ball only deal so is unavailable for the County Championship.

Australian seamer Dan Worrall arrived in the country this afternoon and will be at the ground over the course of the game.
