Surrey County Cricket Club have appointed Priya Kohli and Paul Whitehead to the Club’s Board as Non-Executive Directors, effective from 17 June 2025.
The Nomination Committee, appointed by the Board to conduct the search for new directors in accordance with Club Rules and ECB County Governance Framework guidelines, conducted a review of the Board’s composition. After reviewing the Board’s skills matrix, the Club undertook a process to find a new Non-Executive Director with a background in Digital/Consumer Technology. The strength of applications was overwhelming, with over 180 candidates expressing an interest in joining the Board of Surrey CCC.
Following the interview process, the Nomination Committee recommended to the Board the appointment of Priya Kohli and Paul Whitehead. Both were formally appointed at the Board meeting on 17 June.
In addition to one vacancy on the Board, the second new appointment fills a vacancy left by the departure of non-executive director Urvasi Naidoo, who has left the Board following her three-year term. The Club would like to place their thanks to Urvasi for her time and commitment while on the Board, in particular her guidance and support to the Club’s compliance and safeguarding departments.
Oli Slipper, Surrey CCC Chair, said: “I am pleased to welcome Paul and Priya to the Board of Surrey CCC. We have a strong and diverse Board, which is critical to ensuring the success of our Club in the coming years, both on and off the field.
“Priya is a highly accomplished director who leads the Global Football Digital Growth team at adidas. She will bring a huge amount of insight and expertise into our digital transformation projects here at Surrey, and I am really excited to welcome Priya to the Board.”
“Paul is the Chief Executive Officer at Zoopla and is an experienced digital leader with a track record of building several high-growth companies. Paul’s experience and leadership credentials will add to and complement our existing non-executive directors on the Board.
“We welcome Paul and Priya to the Board at a very exciting time for the Club. I would also like to express my personal thanks to Vasi for her time on the Board, and to everyone who applied for the non-executive director position.”
The new directors join the existing non-executive directors Kunle Olafare, Laura Cordingley, Ros Trinick, Arun Harinath, Michael Lavelle, Claire Wills and Honorary Treasurer Martin Eadon on the Board.
